Hi I'm Emily, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with broad experience in mental health, specifically in crisis management, pain management, and hospital settings. I take a holistic approach to mental health treatment, which means I look at you as a whole person. My goal is not only to help you alleviate your symptoms but also to get to the root of what’s causing them.

I specialize in working with individuals navigating Chronic Health Conditions, Chronic Pain, Neuropsychiatric Symptoms of Tick-Borne Illness, Codependency, Family Conflict, Mood Disorders, Religious Trauma, Life Transitions, and Women's Issues.

Over the years, I’ve worked with young adults and adults in individual, group, and couple’s counseling settings. I use systemic therapy, which means we’ll explore unconscious motivations and patterns of behavior that might be impacting your relationships, circumstances, and overall life.

I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to receive a diagnosis of a chronic health condition. The frustration, sadness, and anger that come when your life suddenly looks different are feelings I deeply understand. I truly believe in your body’s innate ability to heal, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

It would be an honor to walk alongside you on your path to wellness. Let’s work together to help you rediscover strength, balance, and healing.

    I became a therapist because:

    • I’ve always had a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. My personal experiences with chronic health conditions and my journey to healing gave me a unique perspective on the connection between mental and physical health. I wanted to use what I learned to support others who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. Becoming a therapist has allowed me to combine my compassion, knowledge, and belief in holistic healing to help individuals rediscover their strength and purpose. It’s an honor to walk alongside others on their journey toward balance and well-being.

    My clients describe me as:

    • Empathetic, enlightened, aware, intelligent & direct.

Something to know about my approach is:

    • We start where you are! You have complete control over the sessions. I am here to guide the conversations, but I do believe you hold all the answers to your own healing.

    Together, we will:

    • Work towards uncovering your unconscious beliefs and barriers in order to manifest the life you desire.

    Education

    • Case Western Reserve University, MSW, graduated in 2018
    • Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Masters in Pharmacology, graduated 2019
    • I have multiple certifications and professional training(s) in holistic healthcare, yoga, meditation, EFT, and trauma.

0ristina is an amazing therapist. She allows for self-reflection and self-resolution. I have left every session feeling like I have the correct attitude and proper approaches to any situation that arises. Although she is my therapist, she also makes me feel comfortable enough to vent and bring all issues to the conversation like she was a friend of many years.

We love Emily! She treated my daughter for two years. My daughter said that Emily was intuitive, kind, and insightful. Before my daughter saw Emily, she was passed from one therapist to the next. Nobody knew how to treat my daughter’s mental health issues that were a result of a Lyme disease infection. My daughter said Emily knew about her specific issues and could relate to her situation. I would also trust her with my other kids. She is an excellent therapist and one who is constantly learning and researching new techniques to use with her clients.

Christina has been my therapist since around May 2022 and we’ve always met through remote sessions. She has helped me work through a lot of religious trauma as well as coping with anxiety and depression. She’s very supportive of my queer identity and has been a safe place to discuss and process related pain and issues. She’s responsive to texts outside of a session and flexible when things come up and we need to change the day/time short notice. She’s even spent out-of-session time reading or listening to my thoughts when something happened that really troubled me.

In-session, she listens really well and makes a safe space for whatever I need to talk about and is understanding and patient when my anxiety has me talking in circles. I really appreciate how she validates my experiences so I feel less crazy and that she’s also willing to gently challenge my negative thought patterns so I can see things in more productive ways. She’s provided comfort, tools to cope, insight, and encouragement, and has helped me feel more empowered to make positive decisions for my mental health as well as my future. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for therapy.

I was always hesitant to seek therapy at first, but working with Christina had been a transformative experience. I first met Christina and saw her expertise during the pandemic. From our first session, I felt comfortable and understood.  Christina has a unique ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space, allowing me to explore my thoughts and emotions with ease. Her approach is collaborative and personalized, my sessions with her were addressed to my specific needs and goals. I've appreciated her ability to challenge my perspectives and provide practical tools to apply to my anxiety and specific past trauma that I''ve been battling for years. She is empathetic, insightful, and genuinely invested in my progress. I've personally experienced significant growth and improvements in my mental health. I have been in and out of therapy since I was 14 years old, always jumping from therapist to therapist as none of them made me feel like an actual person instead of a client. Christina Andino is the first therapist that has made me feel comfortable being myself and talking about my issues, and her feedback is always catered to me and my unique life. I appreciate what you do Christina thank you so much.
